Beat the Buckeyes

Our journey took us to Columbus, the starting point of a thrilling 10-day road trip adventure.

The focal point of our visit was to witness the San Diego State Aztecs clash with the Ohio State Buckeyes at the renowned Horseshoe. It was a week brimming with sports excitement as the Padres faced off against the Phillies, and the Chargers took on the Eagles – a sports enthusiast's dream come true.

The night preceding the game, we indulged in an amzing dinner at Schmidt's Sausage Haus, setting the stage for what promised to be an unforgettable day.

On game day, Val proudly donned his Marshall Faulk jersey, and we made our way to The Shoe, ready to immerse ourselves in the game day fervor.

One thing that left a lasting impression was the palpable animosity that Ohio State fans held for their arch-nemesis, Michigan. It seemed as though their disdain for the Wolverines burned brighter than their love for the Buckeyes, a testament to the intensity of the rivalry.

Amidst the thrilling on-field action, one of the standout moments was the mesmerizing halftime show, featuring the iconic Script Ohio formation by the marching band.

While the Aztecs may have taken a loss on the scoreboard, we enjoyed our first-ever taste of White Castle, turning the day into an unforgettable experience despite the outcome on the field.
